The Balanga College, Puri has received a Matching Grant Of Rs 2,60,960 from Mo College Abhijan, a flagship initiative of the Govt of Odisha, College Alumni, Philanthropists, Students and Faculties have made contribution of Rs 1,30,480 towards the cause.  With this, the total sum raised for the project works stands at Rs 3,91,440.

The Alumni of the college said that the college faced intrusion by anti-social elements since a long time in the absence of a of boundary wall, especially in the South side of the college campus. Following the receipt of the Matching Grant from Mo College Abhijan, the boundary wall construction work is nearing completion.

The Principal of the college, Shri Bansidhar Pradhan, said that the southern side of the college campus was unprotected which enabled unsocial elements to trespass and vitiate the atmosphere. To keep the college safe from the intruders, it was decided that a partial boundary wall be built in the south flank of the college, he said.

At present, almost 90 percent of the construction work has been completed. Students, especially girls who constitute around 60 per cent, have welcomed the development work at the college.
