The Discussion

Mo College – When you did you join the Shreeram (Degree) College, Rampur as a student?

Mr. Padhi – I joined the College as an intermediate student in 1981 and completed my graduation from there in 1984. I was a student of History and Political Science. Those days, the standard of teaching was so good that for all the students, including me, it was a sheer joy to go to the college every day. Later, I joined the Indian Army as a Signal Officer and retired in 2009.

Mo College – Can you name a few teachers who inspired you to achieve your goals in life?

Mr. Padhi – My English teacher Rabindra Gartia always inspired me to excel in life. Commerce faculty, Dr. Ashok Panda, also encouraged me a lot. It was a wonderful experience those days as faculties would take responsibility of the students at a personal level.

Mo College – What’s your message for the Mo College initiative?

Mr. Padhi – It’s a positive initiative which is connecting many ex-students and faculties with the college once again. These days, students usually forget about their college due to the pressures of life. Mo College Abhijan has taught us the necessity to maintain a bond with our college which is just amazing. What the institution has given us; it’s time to return through various ways under this platform.

Mo College – How do you plan to revive your college?

Mr. Padhi – I had contributed to the college financially along with my fellow members and, in the year 1982-83, through our joint efforts we got the affiliation of our college. Besides, we are trying to collect funds through the alumni association for the overall development of the college. Apart from all this, I have contributed intellectually by organizing seminars and webinars as well as events under Mo College Abhijan.
